Tables of linear polarization measured in the B band of the UBV system are given for 358 A and F stars in high and intermediate galactic latitudes, and for 118 stars in the Mathewson Ford polarization catalogue (1970). For most of the A and F stars, reliable ubvy and Hβ photometry is available and, therefore, distances are known with good accuracy. The programme aims at studying the interstellar magnetic field in selected areas as; well as correlations between polarization and distance and colour excess, respectively. Instrumental errors are believed to be smaller than 10-4. Comparison between the Mathewson and Ford polarization values and the present data shows that the external error in our catalogue does not exceed ± 0.03 per cent.
