The paper gives a description of a simple set of computer programs that may be used to calculate spectral line shapes for selected transitions of H-like, He-like and Li-like ions. The transitions are calculated in the standard quasi-static ion and impact electron approximations, which will give accurate profiles over most of the regions of temperature and density of interest. The programs run extremely rapidly on large-scale mainframe computers and may also be used to perform these calculations efficiently on small desk-top computers without loss of accuracy.
