The relation between the size and the internal velocities of Giant Extragalactic H II Regions (GEHR) has been compared with the proposed relation in Galactic H II regions. The results of studies of the internal motions of eight Galactic objects have been used to determine the internal velocities that would be determined had they been observed at the same spatial resolution. The GEHR H-alpha isophotal diameters are 10 times larger than their Galactic counterparts at the same internal velocity. This size difference indicates that the GEHR are actually conglomerates of multiple H II regions.
