From an analysis of the V light curve of BM Ori via the light-curve synthesis method, it is shown that the shape of the cool component in this eclipsing binary system cannot be described in the framework of the Roche model. It is shown that the cool component may be approximated by an oblate spheroid with an oblateness of about 0.74. The cool component in the BM Ori system is a rapidly rotating star probably at the premain sequence compression stage.
