Using a spherically symmetric hydrodynamic code, the authors investigate the evolution of a young supernova remnant on the basis of a carbon deflagration model for Type Ia supernovae. Nonequilibrium X-ray emission is calculated for the elemental composition of this model, and the resultant spectrum is compared with the spectrum of the remnant of SN 1572 observed with the Tenma satellite. The intensity of an Fe Kα line blend is calculated to be much lower than the observed value. This discrepancy is eliminated by assuming that the stratification of the elemental composition in the supernova ejecta is partially removed by mixing. Mixing of inner layers of ejecta gives a better fit to the observed X-ray spectrum than mixing of outer layers.
