Several hundred images of the infrared source IRC +10216 have been obtained with a Walsh-Hadamard coding technique, at wavelengths 2.2 μm, 3.7 μm and 4.8 μm with the 3.6 m European Southern Observatory (ESO) telescope. Interlaced exposures of the star R Leo were taken in order to determine the spread function of the instrument on a point source. The source IRC +10216 was clearly resolved at 2.2 and 3.7 μm. The shape of the image has been determined. The values are in agreement with values found by using other techniques.
