The interaction of energetic particles with a shock wave in the presence of finite amplitude perturbation of a magnetic field are investigated. The assumed form of magnetic field perturbations is discussed and shock parameters are defined. Integration of equations of motion for energetic particles is performed for various wavelength ranges and for various amplitudes of field perturbations. It is found that the most favorable conditions for acceleration are provided by the presence of waves which are long and medium relative to the particle gyroradius. It is emphasized that specific information on the spectrum of waves in the shock vicinity should be provided in order to allow for a quantitative description of shock-particle interactions. Analyical models of diffusive particle acceleration should include the resulting modified conditions at the shock to obtain realistic solutions.
