High Dispersion Echelle Spectrograph, Hides, Extrasolar Planets
Scientific paper
We are now conducting a research project entitled "Comprehensive Spectroscopic Study of Planet-Harboring Stars" by using the new high-dispersion spectrograph HIDES at Okayama Astrophysical Observatory, with which (1) high-precision detection of the radial-velocity variation, (2) precise abundance determination, and (3) very delicate line-profile analysis, are involved. The motivation and the significance of this project are described along with the problems encountered, the results obtained, and the future prospects.
