Scientific paper

This paper examines data on 37 gamma-ray bursts detected in the period from September to December 1978 with the Konus gamma-ray detectors aboard Venera 11 and 12. These detectors measured eight energy spectra in the range from 0 keV to 2 MeV and also detected 120 solar hard X-ray bursts of various intensities. The time structure of the detected gamma-ray bursts is examined, and the differential energy spectra of most of the bursts are shown to be almost power-law in form with indices of 1.5 to 2.3. Attention is also given to the intensity and maximum-energy distributions of 41 burst events and the source distribution for 17 bursts. A strong source concentration toward the Galactic Center is indicated.
