Spectrometers aboard Venera 11 and 12 have measured UV radiation
scattered in the upper atmosphere of Venus. This paper discusses
preliminary results of these measurements, and gives attention to
scattered radiation intensity, the intensity of Lyman-alpha radiation,
and the intensity of the He I 584-A line near the illuminated limb.
