The Bureau International de l'Heure (BIH) was defined in 1968 by the adoption of astronomical coordinates for a network of 68 optical instruments contributing to earth rotation monitoring. Starting with 1973, the series of Earth Rotation Parameters (ERP) obtained by space geodesy and interferometric techniques were progressively introduced in the maintenance of the direction of the axes of the BIH system. An explanation of the tables is given.
