Low proton temperatures between 0.3 and 1.0 AU, obtained between 1974 and 1980 from Helios-1 hourly data, are used to identify magnetically closed structures in the solar wind. Solar wind proton parameters, including the temperatures, densities, velocities, and components of the IMF, are checked in order to detect low temperature regions embedded within closed magnetic field lines. The temperature of the hot component (v of greater than 550 km/s) was found to vary with radial distance (r) as r exp -3/4, while the cold component (v of less than 550 km/s) shows a variation which is close to the adiabatic. The criteria of reduced temperatures and closed magnetic field lines were found to be fulfilled in most of the events found, indicating closed structures.
