Exact expressions for the source function, intensity and radiant flux are formulated with the use of vector notation for any 3-D absorbing, emitting and isotropically scattering finite medium exposed to nondiffuse radiation. The medium may be convex or concave. The generalized equations are then used to obtain expressions decribing radiative transfer in arbitrary 2-D geometries and in 3-D media with various geometries.
