In this paper we present maps of the spatial distribution of galaxies in the general direction of the Hydra-Centaurus complex and discuss how that distribution relates to other structures located in the volume within 6000 km/s of the Local Group, using a sample of over 5700 galaxies brighter than mB(0) = 14.5 with essentially complete redshift information. Our sample covers about 50% of the sky and allows us to follow structures over large extensions. From the inspection of these maps we find that the galaxies are distributed in a pattern of interconnected structures, many of them with a rather regular wall-like appearance.
