The results of photometric and spectroscopic observations of AB Dor in November 1986 confirm presence of a rapid (on a scale of a few rotational periods) variability of light curve of the variable. Minima of light curves in different colors are shifted in phase relative to each other. All photometric observations available in literature can be phased with a single period without necessity of invoking any systematic spot migration. The value of the surface flux of the line core emission in H and K lines places AB Dor among the most chromospherically active stars known at present.
