Europe is now facing important challenges for the future of Astronomy, which are of direct implications to high-energy astrophysics. The ASTRONET roadmap for the future infrastructures is being prepared, ESA has launched the first Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 call for missions and other initiatives are also on-going. I will discuss these opportunities in the framework of the most relevant Astronomy topics that can be addressed via high-energy observatories.
