Observations of the SNR VRO 42.05.01 obtained with a resolution of 2 km/s in velocity and 4 arcmin in angle reveal the interaction of the SNR with the surrounding H I environment. The results support a model in which a blast wave has broken into and reenergized a prexisting low-density hot cavity after an initial expansion in a warm medium with a density of about 1/cu cm. The systemic velocity of the H I associated with the SNR is found to be -34 + or - 5 km/s.
