We request KPNO 2.1m time to acquire SDSS riz images of 19 serendipitously-detected, Chandra extended X-ray sources that lack deep optical coverage. These data will enable us to; 1) determine photometric redshifts (z≲ 1.1) by using the location of the early-type cluster galaxy red-sequence in the color-magnitude plane, 2) quantify our optical/X-ray galaxy cluster detection methods by constraining the optical cluster mass selection function based on a comparison of the cluster X-ray luminosity/temperature with optical richness, and 3) measure ancillary attributes, such as the luminosity function, color-magnitude relation, and correlations between various optical and X-ray cluster properties.
