Methods and techniques used for digital VLBI signal processing, from cross-correlation and to post-correlation analysis, are reviewed. A field of view of the correlator is studied in some detail. The standard and global approaches to the fringe search are presented. Various corrections to the visibility amplitudes and their place within signal processing are briefly discussed with an emphasis on the nonlinear behavior of the VLBI clipper-sampler. Finally, Caltech's data reduction facilities are overviewed as an example.
