A well-defined sample of radio-emitting ellipticals has been observed to discover if these galaxies contain unusual amounts of neutral hydrogen. At a detection limit of 3×108 M_sun;, independent of distance, at most 4 galaxies in 22 were detected. There is statistically weak evidence that these galaxies are more luminous at 5.0 GHz than the undetected ones, but any correlation between radio luminosity and H I content must be extremely loose.
