An extensive set of internally consistent oscillator strength values for Fe I lines is compiled using literature data and scaling the oscillator strengths derived by different workers to that of Blackwell and his coworkers. A relationship is developed that can be used for calculating the gf values for Fe I lines for cases where gf values are not available, and the nature of errors in the gf values that were reported by Kurucz and Peytremann (1975) is examined. The newly calculated gf values are listed, together with the gf values reported by other investigators as well as corrections to be applied to the oscillator strengths of Kurucz and Peytremann (1975) for lines belonging to different multiplets.
