Cosmic Rays: Origin, Cosmic Rays: Gamma Rays

An analysis was made of the information on cosmic ray origin from studies of cosmic γ-rays. It seems very likely that supernova remnants provide some of the cosmic ray energy input and recent studies of spectral variations give support to the idea. However, these same spectral variations have led to reassessing the role of inverse Compton interactions. It was concluded that these interactions may be much more significant than previously assumed.
