A theoretical study is made of azimuthal deviations of the magnetoionic components of radio waves arising under the effect of the horizontal irregularity of the ionosphere. Calculations are carried out for the limiting cases of the longitudinal and transverse propagation of radio waves. The theoretical results are used to interpret experimental results for a midlatitude radio path directed at an angle of 45 deg to the meridian and having a length of about 2000 km.
