The spatial velocities of 614 red giants in the vicinity of the sun are studied. It is found that the distribution of the components of the residual velocities of these stars differs from a normal distribution, and these differences are especially pronounced for the Vtheta and VZ components. The mean eccentricity of the galactic orbits of the red giants is 0.09. The strong nonuniformity of the distribution of directions of the residual velocity vectors, connected with the existence of moving groups, is noted. The indeterminacy of the dependence of the average metal content on the average residual velocity is revealed.
