An asymptotic solution of the time-dependent magnetic-field-line reconnection problem with travelling shock waves was obtained by the method of the "frozen-in" coordinates. There were studied three phases: the phase of growth when the magnetic-field energy is being converted into kinetic and internal energy of a plasma, the phase of separation, and the phase of outflow when the two field reversal regions (confined by slow shock waves) carry away the energy converted at the phase of growth.
