The authors report panoramic photometry of the strength of the λ3883 cyanogen band in the spectra of red giants in NGC 2808, in the magnitude range -0.5 < MV < 1.5. There is a range in band strength at all magnitudes surveyed, but the CN distribution shows little or no evidence for the type of bimodality predicted by Norris on the hypothesis that there is a connection between horizontal-branch morphology and the form of the CN distribution on the red giant branch.
