The authors searched for 12CO emission from several regions at high galactic latitude. The observed regions were chosen because they showed both high H I column density and relatively low galaxy counts, suggesting the possible presence of obscuring material. No CO emission was detected at a 4σ level of 0.28K antenna temperature. This result does not rule out the presence of obscuring material but does place some limitations on the nature of the regions observed.
