Solar Microwave Bursts: Fine Structure

There are two leading fine structures of microwave solar bursts. They are the microwave type III bursts (M III) and the microwave millisecond spikes (MMS). It is more complicated in the fine structures in meter band. In 1994, Islike and Benz gave a definition about the various bursts in the frequency band of 1 - 3 GHz. According to this definition, this article analyses the fine structures with 8 ms observed by Beijing Astronomical Observatory in the band 2.6 - 3.8 GHz, and discovers the limitations of that definition about the M III and MMS. So the authors redefine the M III and MMS in this band, and discuss the relationship between the dennation and the time resolution of the instrument.
