The IR properties of OH megamasers are analyzed, emphasizing the
differences between the OH-emitting and OH-absorbing sources. A
quadratic L(OH)-L(IR) relationship rather than a linear one is found for
the observed megamasers. Such a relationship can be easily understood in
terms of a low-gain amplification model.
