We request WIYN 2-hour queue time to obtain precise VI colors of galaxies being observed by the Hubble Space Telescope. These colors complement the WFPC2 images being taken in Cycle 8 and will be used to calibrate the absolute brightness of each galaxy's surface brightness fluctuation (SBF) measurement in order to obtain its distance. Ultimately, these distances will be used to reconcile the apparent 15-30% discrepancy between the type Ia supernovae and SBF distance scales.
