Abstract In order to better understand the formation of the IAB parent body, a detailed 40Ar-39Ar age study on plagioclase separates from individual IAB silicate inclusions was performed [1]. Combining 40Ar-39Ar ages and those from other radioisotopic systems, an early thermochronological evolution of the IAB parent body was established. The data are consistent with impact disruption of a partially differentiated body followed by gravitational reassembly of the debris as proposed by [2].
