It is shown that the BL Lac core of PKS1413 + 135 is overwhelmingly dominant in the observed K-band but is undetectable in the optical bands. No evidence of strong reddening is found, agreeing with the hypothesis that the very steep infrared core spectrum probably reflects the rather low upper cut-off energy of the underlying electron distribution. This is the first BL Lac object for which there is strong evidence for an underlying disk galaxy and only the second object for which a disk-type host has been reported.
