Maps are presented of the IRAS large-scale 100 micron emission, after subtraction of a physical model for the zodiacal emission. These maps delineate two regions of exceptionally low dust column density that will be of great interest in connection with XUV space missions. Toward the Galactic center the 100 micron emissivity per hydrogen atom increases, due to the increased intensity of starlight, and toward the anticenter it declines looking out into the outer part of the Galactic disk. It is shown that while the narrow inner zodiacal dust bands peaking at 25 microns are probably consistent with being due to debris from collisions between members of the Thermis asteroid family, the outer broad zodiacal bands are cooler and are located at at least twice the distance of the inner bands.
