It is shown that, for moderately strong Fraunhofer lines, the scatter of the observed central residual intensity values decreases with an increase in excitation potential. In the case of weak lines, such a dependence is absent. The data suggest that, up to a certain level below its surface, the solar photosphere is nonstationary. Below this level, the undisturbed solar photosphere can already be considered a stationary formation.
