Other planets are "terraformed" mentally by defining local place names (nomenclature) or calendar systems. Using these systems it is easier to refer to time and space (events, places) on these planetary bodies outside the Oikumene of human culture. Authors working in planetary science may create a calendar when it is needed for practical purposes. In the past 125 years, more than 70 authors have published ideas for Mars Calendars. We need a calendar that is easy to use for a terrestrial-calendar socialized mind, fits the orbital elements of Mars, is good for showing the natural changes and cycles in meteorology, climate and geo-processes and also would be practical for timekeeping on a future human Mars mission. The two main types of calendar proposals are sol-based (divided to months and weeks) and Ls-based (usually not divided further). In natural sciences usually Ls-based ones are used. In present practice scientific articles usually refer to Earth years and months along with Mars Ls values which is perfect for natural science research done on Earth. In spacecraft missions, mission elapsed sols are most practical for timekeeping (Sol 1 being the date of landing). The "56/270" Calendar
