Stellar Interiors: Nuclear Reactions

Scientific paper

An attempt is made to relate the effective energy generation rate with the collision cross section for the reaction H'(Pβ+ν)H2 in stellar interiors. The energy generation rates are found to be greatly augmented due to the screening effect at the lower end of the hydrogen burning temperature. The method adopted may be equally useful for other steps of P-P cycle of reaction.
