Photographic and radio observations of the quasar 3C273 and its jet are discussed. A knot appears at the base of the jet and there seems to be reddening towards the tip of the jet. The reddening is supported by radio observations. The problem of apparent superluminal expansion is mentioned with 3C273 and 3C120. Emission features are reported on the continuum of knot C in the M87 jet. An observation of a faint star at the end of the jet in 3C66B is reported as having a continuum with no identifiable features. The question of the distance of NGC 4448, and 3C273 is raised.
