Observations of unstable nuclides together with model calculations are used to probe galactic nucleosynthesis. It is argued that the mean rate of stellar nucleosynthesis has remained almost constant throughout galactic life and that it shows the effect of the spiral arm structures. It is also argued that the fractional contamination of the protosolar OB association in Al-26 was about 1 percent, much larger than the fractional contamination of r-elements (0.0001).
