The observed period spectrum of two typical Mira variables (S CMi and chi Cyg) is confronted with theoretical nonadiabatic linear models. It turns out that almost all observed frequencies in the cleaned spectrum of these two chosen variables can be explained as radial pulsational modes, their harmonics and combinations if the dominant mode is identified with the first overtone. This procedure is shown to be a powerful tool for mass and luminosity determination of Long Period Variables.
