Using Wood's (1972) model we have analyzed Wilson's (1966) photoelectric lightcurves - as yet unsolved - of the eclipsing binary XZ CMi. Besides, absolute elements have been tentatively estimated by assuming for the primary a mass of 1.7 Msun - typical of an FO dwarf. XZ CMi appears to be composed of a brighter and larger FO primary (probably on the main sequence) attended by a fainter and smaller (about KO) secondary, distinctly overluminous and oversized for its mass and spectral type. For our photometric mass ratio q=O.4, both components, though detached from their Roche lobes, are fairly close to a contact configuration.
