Six dimensionless functions are calculated which constitute coefficients in a spherical-harmonic expansion of planetary tidal deformations. These functions represent radial and tangential dislocations, radial and tangential stresses, the tidal perturbation potential, and the gradient of that potential. A system of six first-order homogeneous differential equations concerning the functions is integrated numerically for a specific lunar model, and the results are compared with those obtained by Kaula (1964).
