The status of research on galactic nuclei and radio sources is reviewed. 'Nucleus' is restricted to the central compact portions of a galaxy within a 10 parsec radius dominated by high-energy and nuclear activity. The gaseous component, and the stellar component of the nuclear bulge are discussed, along with EM radiation. Stellar populations, the action of galactic wind, galactic energy balance, possible presence of supermassive stars or black holes, and directivity in the ejection of matter-energy are considered. Questions placed on the agenda deal with: physical mechanisms underlying generation of prodigious quantities of energy, collimation of quantities of energy in privileged directions (radio galaxies and quasars), evolutionary parameters on the scale of galaxies, and searches for hitherto unknown laws of physics.
