The paper reports the results of extensive petrographic, mineral chemistry, and chemical studies of the Weston (Conn.) chondrite. Evidence of shock deformation, mixing and melting of components is analogous to features observed in lunar and terrestrial impact breccias. The material contains basically two types of xenolith: recrystallized and equilibrated chondritic inclusions, types H5 through 7, and black, highly unequilibrated H3 chondritic xenoliths set in dark gray host material. The host silicate compositions appear to have been established prior to final agglomeration. There is a distinct carbonaceous component in the host and in the black fragments.
