We have obtained deep images in the VRI bands of the field centered on QSO 1508+5714 ( zem =4.28) with the FOCAS camera on Subaru telescope. In particular, we report on the detection of a possible candidate, responsible for a previous known Lyman limit absorption system (z=3.88) seen in the QSO spectrum. The object is 1.8" north-west of the QSO sightline, corresponding to a projected separation of ~12kpc at z=3.88 for Omega=0.3, Lambda=0.7 and H=70 km/s/Mpc. Photometric redshift analysis is presented to complement the color selection. Although further observations are required to confirm the redshift, the measured colors can be reconciled with the spectrum of a star forming population at redshift z=3-4. Given the photometric properties of this object (M=-22.2, making L~3L_sun, if placed at z=3.88), as well as the Sersic index ( n ~0.8) derived from a 2-D imaging decomposition, the identified system is most likely to be a large and bright normal disk galaxy at high redshift at high redshift.
