Two aspects of stellar evolution, relevant for neutron stars (NS) in Globular Clusters (GCs) are discussed: 1. the formation of compact remnants and the expectations concerning their survival into the cluster. The initial mass function, the double epoch of star formation (which is now well established to occur in GCs, based on the chemical anomalies of the GC stars) and the possible neutrino kicks at the supernova explosion are all important ingredients of this aspect; 2. the formation of binaries containing NSs and the consequent binary period distribution determines the secular evolution in the low mass X-ray binary (LMXB) phase and the distribution of orbital periods of the remnants binary millisecond pulsars (MSP). The orbital period distribution of LMXBs in the field population shows that there is a tendency towards secular evolution starting when the main sequence phase is almost finished -close to the so called `bifucation period'. This is interpreted as a further argument in favour of the formation of the field LMXBs preferentially by tidal capture in GCs which afterwards have been then destroyed by tidal interactions with the bulge. The orbital period distribution of binary MSPs in GCs and the very low mass of a few white dwarf companions of MSPs in GCs also is in favour of the hypothesis that tidal capture is the preferred mechanism for binary formation in clusters. In the same context, the existence and modelling of two `interacting' binary MSPs (the famous PSR J1740-5340 and the fastest known MSP PSR J1748-2446ad in the GC Terzan5) is discussed.
