The theory and method for calculating the formation of terrestrial stratiform clouds are used to compute seven models of ammonia clouds in the Jovian atmosphere for different values of atmospheric parameters (rate of vertical motion, turbulence coefficient, number of condensation nuclei, and relative mass content of ammonia). Some correlations are established between the atmospheric parameters and various properties of cloud microstructure, including particle concentrations, mean particle size, and ammoniation. The optical depths of the clouds are calculated, and it is found that the number of sublimated particles per unit volume (or mass) is decisive in determining the optical depths.
