Both wake flows and multiple current sheets are known to be independently unstable; it is here proposed that instabilities in the combined system might account for the complex flows and structures observed in adjoining streamers. It is shown that while the structure of the modes is significantly changed by the Alfvenic and sub-Alfvenic wake flow, their growth rates are not changed.
