We used the Magellan Echellete spectrograph (MagE) on the Magellan/ Clay 6.5-m telescope to obtain a spectrum of SN2009hd in M66 (CBET #1867). The observations were taken on 2009 July 9.0 UT with a total exposure time of 900 sec. Inspection of the 1-d spectrum reveals a very red continuum dominated by broad H-alpha emission with a FWHM of about 6000 km/sec and a minimum that corresponds to a velocity of about 5800 km/sec.
