These papers review recent results in galactic and extragalactic X-ray astronomy. Topics include observations of compact galactic X-ray sources similar to Sco X-1 or associated with OB stars, results obtained with the Ariel 5 hard X-ray detector, identified X-ray-emitting supernova remnants, the status of galactic X-ray sources, observations of X-ray sources near the galactic center, similarities and differences between optical novae and transient X-ray novae, techniques for determining X-ray source positions, and the 2A catalog of X-ray sources. The spatial distribution of extragalactic X-ray sources is also discussed, along with X-ray sources in clusters of galaxies, HEAO 1 sky survey instruments, X-ray spectra of active galaxies, theories of active galactic nuclei, and properties of X-ray-emitting Seyfert and sharp-emission-line galaxies.
