A sample of 24 open clusters is given in order to compare the main methods of age determination. It turns out that, as generally agreed, the most reliable method is the isochron one, because of its more extended consideration of data. The membership of classical Cepheids in some of the clusters is then checked by comparing the ages of the clusters and the Cepheids.
